Born and raised in the big-sky country of Montana, Erika Spaulding brings a lifetime of local roots and a heart for service to The Lifeguard Group. Her professional journey began in animal medicine, where she spent 15 years developing a high level of technical expertise, including certifications in animal anesthesia, analgesia, and radiation. Her curiosity for the natural world even took her abroad to Costa Rica, where she spent time studying marine life.
Erika’s transition into human advocacy was a natural evolution of her passion for protecting the vulnerable. As a court-sworn CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), she serves as a dedicated voice for children in the legal system, with a specialized focus on those falling under the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). Having spent years in tribal outreach, Erika is deeply committed to supporting historically underserved communities, with a particular focus on the empowerment of women and children.
At home, Erika is a proud foster and adoption mother to two daughters. Her life is rounded out by a lively household of two Labradors, a "hand-me-down" cat who found a permanent home, and her red roan gelding. When she isn’t working or advocating in the courtroom, you’ll find her where she feels most at peace: in the Montana mountains with her girls.
